Mornington Toy and Games Library

Welcome!

The Mornington Toy and Games Library is one of the largest toy libraries in Dunedin. We are a community service that aims to provide good quality, educational toys and games to children of primary school age and under. We are a not-for-profit organisation run by a committee of volunteers. Our activities are funded by an annual membership fee, a rental charge on each toy, multiple community grants, and an annual fundraising event.

Benefits of Belonging to a Toy Library

Your children get to play with different toys every two weeks
You save money and your children get to "try before you buy", i.e. you can find out which toys your children enjoy before you buy them.
You have less long-term clutter in your home (especially larger toys) and less waste to the environment
You get to know other families in your community
Children can learn the responsibility of keeping track of all the pieces and cleaning the toys for the benefit of the next borrower.

Membership Options

Standard: $40 per family ($30 for Student ID/Community Services cardholders and Home Educators). Toy hire charges are NOT included.

Premium: $105 per family ($95 for Student ID/Community Services cardholders and Home Educators). Toy hire charges ARE included (excl. Party and Summer Hire fees). This option is recommended for those with larger families.

Temporary: $10 for 4 weeks. Suitable for grandparents, visitors, etc. Toy hire charges are NOT included.
