Mornington Toy & Games Library

 

 

Welcome!

The Mornington Toy and Games Library is one of the largest toy libraries in Dunedin. We are a community service that aims to provide good quality, educational toys and games to children of primary school age and under. We are a not-for-profit organisation run by a committee of volunteers. Our activities are funded by an annual membership fee, a rental charge on each toy, multiple community grants, and an annual fundraising event.

Benefits of Belonging to a Toy Library

  • Your children get to play with different toys every two weeks
  • You save money and your children get to "try before you buy", i.e. you can find out which toys your children enjoy before you buy them.
  • You have less long-term clutter in your home (especially larger toys) and less waste to the environment
  • You get to know other families in your community
  • Children can learn the responsibility of keeping track of all the pieces and cleaning the toys for the benefit of the next borrower.

Membership Options

Standard: $50 per family ($40 for Student ID/Community Services cardholders and Home Educators). Toy hire charges are NOT included.

Premium: $115 per family ($105 for Student ID/Community Services cardholders and Home Educators). Toy hire charges ARE included (except Party and Summer Hire fees). This option is recommended for those with larger families.

Casual: $15 for 4 weeks. Suitable for grandparents, visitors, etc. Toy hire charges are NOT included.
